Since 2014, NAMA has played a central role in a strategic joint venture dedicated to modernizing the water and sanitation infrastructure across various cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This extensive project aligns with the country’s national efforts to harmonize its environmental standards with European Union regulations—a critical milestone in its path toward EU membership.
NAMA’s involvement encompasses the full technical and consultancy spectrum, ensuring that urban water cycles are managed with scientific precision and long-term sustainability. The project focuses on cities with a population equivalent of up to 25,000 each, delivering tailored solutions that respect both local legislation and international best practices.
Integrated Engineering & Strategic Planning
The scope of NAMA’s services covers every phase of the project lifecycle, providing the technical foundation for large-scale environmental investments:
- Comprehensive Technical Studies: Execution of feasibility studies, preliminary assessments, and final detailed engineering designs for state-of-the-art Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs).
- Urban Water Management: Design of robust drainage and water supply systems to ensure reliable service delivery and urban resilience against environmental pressures.
- Procurement & Tender Management: Preparation of complete tender documentation and technical specifications for several major works, facilitating transparent and efficient international bidding processes.
- Regulatory Alignment: Ensuring all studies meet the rigorous criteria of EU environmental directives while remaining fully compliant with the national legal framework.
A Partnership for Sustainable Development
The success of this initiative was highlighted in the final project presentation hosted by the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, underscoring the high-level collaboration between international consultants and local authorities. By addressing critical infrastructure gaps, NAMA has helped set a benchmark for environmental stewardship in the region.
For NAMA, this project demonstrates our ability to export high-level engineering expertise and lead complex, multinational infrastructure programs. It reflects our commitment to supporting emerging markets in their transition toward sustainable, future-ready water management systems.
